Vera has become quite the pro at eating solid foods - she basically HAD to, since she hit a growth spurt right around the same time as my milk supply seemed to tank... we went through a few days of constant crying from hunger, and then she learned to eat cereal, sweet potatoes, and take an occasional bottle of formula, all within a couple days. I think normally it takes kids a few weeks to master eating solids and to accept supplemental bottles, but hunger is a really powerful motivator!! (plus our kid is a gustatory and culinary genius, of course). Now she eats green beans, sweet potatoes, squash, avocado, and peas. The last two are not her favorite. We're about to introduce fruit, so we'll she if she inherited a sweet tooth!
Anyway, now her high chair seems to be her favorite place to hang out!! Here's a video of her eating oatmeal cereal right before her morning nap. Enjoy the mess!
