So, many of you know that Joe and I have three older brothers between the two of us (Joe has two, I have one). They all had their first babies the year we got married (2007), and this year has been the year of baby #2. You may have already checked out their blogs, which are linked at the left. Joe's eldest brother and his wife had a girl in October, Joe's middle brother and his wife had a baby girl on monday (!!), and my brother and his wife are expecting a little girl a month before me, in early September (have you noticed a pattern? three little girls... I wonder what that means for us....)
Anyway, I just think it's so cool that our little apple (the baby is the size of an apple this week - just 4 inches long, 2.5 ounces in weight) will enter this world with SIX (6!!!) cousins all set and ready to go! That doesn't even count second cousins - believe me, just on my side of the family, there are too many to count. Not only does that make little apple pretty lucky for all the playmates and role-models, it also means that we will have the benefit of advice and support from our big bros and their awesome wives (not to mention, hand me downs!)

well, in my humblest of humble opinions, your kid is really freaking lucky :) mr a will definitely show him or her the ropes at the playground and teach him or how to decode adult speak, throw food on the floor, and push all kinds of literal and figurative buttons. let the mentoring begin! much love to you 3 :)
